The excavator operating environment is complex, the chassis is the most frequent part of the machine's force, and its use and maintenance are crucial. Combined with years of service experience, we summarize the following points of chassis parts use knowledge for reference.
Key points for using track chain rail knuckle
The track chain rail knuckle is a key component of the excavator's traveling system. Since each chain track has a fixed length and the driving wheel is a toothed structure, it will produce a “polygon effect” in traveling, resulting in unstable traveling and vibration of the equipment.
In case of improper operation, poor road condition, change of tensioning force or mud and sand in the track, the chain track is prone to resonance beating, accompanied by abnormal noise, and in serious cases, even cause derailment and aggravate the wear of the chassis.
It is recommended to keep the track clean, avoid the accumulation of foreign matter, and regularly check the gap and tension of the chain track to prevent abnormal wear and tear caused by resonance or traveling failure.
Points for the use of undercarriage structural parts
Structural parts such as supporting wheel, driving wheel, carrier chain wheel and track guard plate are usually made of alloy steel and strengthened by heat treatment, but they are still easy to be damaged under improper use conditions.
If the track is improperly tensioned or there are mud or foreign objects, the protective film on the metal surface will be worn out, accelerating the aging and loss of the components and shortening the service life.
In daily operation, avoid steering in place on concrete or hard road surface; when encountering high difference obstacles, go straight over them to prevent the track plate from falling off; and adjust the track tensioning force regularly according to the Operation Manual to keep the chassis system in good working condition.
Maintenance points of the floating oil seal
Floating oil seal is widely used in key parts such as the traveling motor, reducer, supporting wheel, etc. It is mainly used to keep internal gear oil lubrication and prevent oil leakage.
Once foreign objects such as mud, sand and water enter the sealing part, it is very easy to cause damage to the oil seal and oil leakage; in addition, the oil temperature rises due to long-term operation, which also accelerates the aging of the oil seal.
To ensure the performance of the oil seal, mud and water stains on the equipment should be removed regularly, and a solid, dry ground should be chosen when parking; when signs of oil leakage and oil seal deformation are found, the oil seal should be replaced in time to avoid the expansion of the fault.
Correct operation and daily maintenance suggestions
Excavators should pay attention to operation specifications and cycle maintenance in daily use, choose original parts, and avoid using non-compliant substitutes.
Keep the chassis area clean and dry, and clean the chassis of foreign objects in time after operation; long-term stoppage should be parked on the ground with good drainage, and start the vehicle regularly to ensure that the oil circulates and lubricates.
Standardized operation and regular maintenance are the keys to prolonging the life of chassis parts and enhancing operational efficiency and equipment value.
